Coastal Plain Therapy & Wellness is celebrating Balance Awareness Week!
Most people don't even know that they have a vestibular system, let alone even know what the word "vestibular" means. Your vestibular system, or your inner ear, is responsible for relaying signals to your brain to tell you where you are in space and if you're moving. This system is small, but mighty! If one little thing affects this system, your world can literally seem like it's being turned upside down.
This year, Coastal Plain Therapy & Wellness is excited to be celebrating Balance Awareness Week with the Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) to help get the word out about vestibular and balance dysfunction. By bringing attention to this cause, we hope to help those suffering from symptoms know that they are not alone and that there are resources and treatments to decrease or resolve symptoms.
Whether it comes on gradually over time or all of the sudden, bouts of dizziness, vertigo, and nausea can make many of life’s routine tasks virtually intolerable. Everyday life – from getting around your house to grocery shopping—becomes a progressively challenging obstacle course to navigate.
Celebrate with us!
